Patrick Mark Pimblett was born on January 3, 1995. He is an English professional MMA fighter. He currently fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship’s Lightweight category (UFC). Pimblett, a professional since 2012, formerly held the title of Cage Warriors Featherweight.
Paddy Pimblett grew raised in the Merseyside town of Huyton. He went to Cardinal Heenan Catholic High School and St Margaret Mary’s Primary School. He began training in mixed martial arts at the age of 14 after being inspired by the battle between Diego Sanchez and Clay Guida at The Ultimate Fighter 9 Finale, joining Next Generation MMA and deciding he would compete in the sport for a livelihood shortly after.
Pimblett made his debut in 2012, at the age of 17, and went 3-0 before joining Cage Warriors a year later. He won the Cage Warriors featherweight championship in 2016, defeating Johnny Frachey at Liverpool’s Echo Arena, and defended it once against Julian Erosa, winning a rather contentious unanimous decision.
Pimblett lost to Nad Narimani in April 2017 and was promoted to lightweight. After winning, he competed for the Cage Warriors lightweight championship but was defeated by Sren Bak by unanimous decision. Pimblett secured a deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship after two more wins in the organization. Pimblett has previously turned down two UFC contracts in favor of higher cash offers from Cage Warriors.
