(Video) Juan Soto and Aaron Judge grin as fans chant re-sign Soto at Yankee stadium

The 2024 free agency is putting the spotlight mostly on one of the New York Yankees’ super players Juan Soto, who is currently in the midst of controversies and speculations. While the outfielder has not hinted whether he wants to re-sign with the pinstripes or join a new team, the NY fans are not willing to let him go.

In their latest faceoff against the St. Louis Cardinals, the fans roared “Re-sign Soto”, which was heard echoing throughout the Yankee Stadium. One could easily get a deja vu, as the same incident took place a couple of days back, where the fans chanted “Please sign Soto”.

A similar kind of incident also took place when the Yanks faced the Washington Nationals. Some of the Nationals fans called out “Come home Soto” despite the stadium being filled with more Yankees fans.

Whatever team he decides on will undoubtedly be big news, as he’s also expected to sign the contract above the $500 million threshold. He turned down the Nationals 15-year $440 million extension back in 2022 and later joined the Bronx.

The Yankees traded for Soto to add more offensive power to Aaron Judge, and not to say, their strategy definitely worked. The duo has been blasting off the 2024 season, creating new personal records, and boosting the team for playoff chances.

Francisco Lindor on Juan Soto’s free agency

New York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor recently commented on the hot topic surrounding NY outfielder Juan Soto. A couple of days back, the 30-year-old spoke about how it’ll be great to have Soto in the Mets locker room but there seemed to be some controversies surrounding it.

He clarified his comments saying Soto is free to sign with whoever and whichever team he desires to. All Lindor wishes is for Soto to get what he deserves, and even if the Mets decide to pursue the 4x All-Star player, they should run it thoroughly, and not make it a person-opinion-based judgment.

No. I don’t want it to come down to my decision. When this organization makes decisions, I want them to be data-driven but also (to come from) listening to many other people, not just me. That’s not how an organization should be run…That’s not my job.

Austin Wells said this viral TikTok video was shown in the Yankees' pregame hitters meeting. Anthony Volpe convinced him to use it as his walkup music.

Other than the buzz going around Juan Soto, the Yankees got themselves a good laugh and light moments before the game on Friday afternoon. A popular TikTok video of Austin Wells has been going around the internet with fans and players enjoying his unique dance and music routine.

The bearded college-aged Wells was even convinced by Anthony Volpe to make the music his walkup song for the games. Soto commented, “It was funny. I mean, he got everybody going.” Wells was even surprised how it took so long for the video to go viral since it’s been on Instagram for ages.
