This wouldn’t be the first time that a rapper was shot. On the 31st of March of 2019, Nipsey Hussle was murdered outside of his clothing store in Los Angeles by a personal acquaintance, Eric Holder, 29.

Reportedly, Eric went to talk to Nipsey Hussle about whether or not he had been cooperating with the authorities and ratting on people in the community. After his death, Nipsey received a massive outpouring of support from the hip-hop community as well as in the black community.

For instance, DJ Khaled appeared alongside John Legend, and Meek Mill for a performance on Saturday Night Live, with the former wearing a sweatshirt printed with an image of Nipsey Hussle’s face.

His death sparked a flood of memes and tributes online, with several alluding to the passings of other legendary rappers, including The Notorious BIG and Tupac.
