Six jurors have been chosen to sit on the "Boy in the Box" case.

The jurors and three alternates are now expected to determine the fate of Tim Ferriter.

Tim Ferriter, along with his wife Tracy, are charged with false imprisonment and child neglect after authorities discovered they kept their adopted son in an 8x8 foot box inside of their garage.

Tim Ferriter is being tried first.

The box was locked from the outside. Inside was a camera, a bed and a bucket as a bathroom.

On Monday, both the state and the defense took the time to question jurors.

This is the only time attorneys on both sides are given the chance to chat with jurors during the trial.

The state took the first half of the day to ask jurors about difficult topics, including experiences of child abuse and their definition of abuse.

“Do you think it’s fair for the state to get involved in parenting decisions?” asked the prosecutor.

During the defense questioning of the jury, they said a child would take the witness stand and be cross-examined by them.

Many of the questions from the defense also centered around parenting and how a parent disciplines their child.

“What determines the intent of a parent?” asked the defense.

By the time questioning was done, six jurors were seated with three alternates.

Opening statements for the trial are scheduled to begin Tuesday morning.
