• Jennifer Aydin (maiden name Jennifer Altinel) was born on April 16, 1977. She is of Turkish, Armenian, and Aramean descent and spent her childhood on Long Island, New York.
• As a young child, Aydin dreamed of being an actress, which worried her mother. She attributes her mother’s fear as being one of the reasons why her acting career failed to take off after her first audition as a 16-year-old.
• Her father was a jeweller who worked for Tiffany’s and A&S, after which he opened his own shop called John Michaels. Despite the family business’ success, they continue living in the house where Aydin grew up in as a child.
• Jennifer is now married to a plastic surgeon, N. Bill Ayden, with whom she has three sons and two daughters. Bill grew up in Turkey from his birth till he was 16 & is quite traditional and conservative by nature.
• The family lives together in a sprawling home in NJ. They follow the traditions of Syrian Orthodoxy.

• After college, Aydin opened a jewellery store, in the same line of business as the rest of her family. However, after being married and starting her own family, she closed the store down.
