(CelebrityAccess News Service) — Ericsson stadium, home to the Carolina Panthers, has been renamed Bank of America Stadium. According to the Charlotte Business Journal, the naming rights deal is worth $140 million over 20 years.

Since the stadium's opening in 1996 it has been known as Ericsson Stadium. That eight-year deal with the telecommunications firm was worth $2.7 million per year.

Bank of America has been affiliated with the Panthers since the team's inception in 1995. "We're proud to have been associated with the Carolina Panthers from the very beginning," Bank of America chairman Kenneth D. Lewis said. However, "this stadium will never be renamed again." –Jane Cohen and Bob Grossweiner
